[UPDATE] BREAKING: CBS Sports’ Greg Anthony arrested for solicitation

Former NBA point guard and CBS Sports analyst Greg Anthony was arrested in Washington, D.C. Friday night, according to a report via Twitter from ABC 7 News.

Anthony, who was in town to broadcast the UMD/Michigan State game for CBS Sports, found himself taken into custody after being caught up in a prostitution sting operation.

He is currently in lockup at the 2nd District precinct in D.C.

Anthony was a well-respected analyst for CBS Sports and spent 11 years in the NBA. He also won a NCAA championship in 1990 with the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels.

UPDATE:

ABC7 News has disclosed via twitter that Greg Anthony offered cash in return for sex from the prostitute at the Double Tree Hotel in NW.

Lt. Kelvin Cusick reported to the Associated Press that Anthony was arrested at 5:46 p.m. last night and charged with a misdemeanor of solicitation, but has been released. Photos of the incident report from the D.C. Police Department have been released:

Anthony will appear before the D.C. Superior Court on Feb. 3. He faces up to 180 days of jail time.

CBS Sports has suspended Anthony indefinitely, according to a spokeswoman from the network. Turner Sports has also suspended the analyst and refused to comment further.
