Chris Pratt is Playing Anna Faris’ Love Interest on “Mom” and the Timing Couldn’t Be Better

Everyone’s favorite Hollywood couple is reuniting onscreen once again. When the news dropped that Chris Pratt would be guest starring as Anna Faris’ love interest on her CBS sitcom, Mom, fans were over the moon. Sure, real-life couples playing love interests is nothing new, but this time around, it’s truly something special. The couple met while working on the movie Take Me Home Tonight in 2007 and quickly made their way into the hearts of America. Now, the married couple has a 4-year-old son named Jack, and their careers are on fire.

It’s no secret that Pratt has become an incredibly successful movie star. Last month, he starred alongside Denzel Washington in The Magnificent Seven, and he’s sure to have another hit on his hands when his film, Passengers, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, debuts this Christmas. Faris has also been having her own share of success lately. Her show just began its fourth season, which is no small feat in today’s world of network television. Plus, she’s also made a name for herself in the podcast industry with Anna Faris is Unqualified. Each week, her and her best friend/co-host, Sim Sarna, give callers relationship advice with the help of a celebrity guest. From time to time, Pratt will hop on the mic and join in on the fun.

The point is, no matter how successful these two are individually, they always support each other. Pratt and Faris have been in this business long enough to become content, yet are still genuinely excited about their work, especially when they have the chance to work together.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect for Pratt’s appearance on Mom. These days, when most people have lost their faith in Hollywood romance, we need a couple like Pratt and Faris more than ever. Entertainment Weekly reports that Pratt’s episode of Mom will air early next year, and he will play a “charming horseback riding instructor who Christy (Faris) decides to pursue – despite the fact that he’s the nephew of Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy), who declared him off-limits.” It’s unclear whether Pratt and Faris’ characters will hit it off, but one thing is for sure: these two certainly had a good time working together again.

It’s hard to explain why Pratt and Faris are the ultimate couple, both on and off screen. They’re just two regular people who happen to have interesting jobs. Maybe it’s the fact that they are completely open about why they love each other so much. Just listen to one episode of Unqualified or watch just one interview when Chris Pratt talks about his wife. These two might be good actors, but that kind of love is impossible to fake. They don’t depend on each other for their own success, which makes it even more special when they make tine to work together. When Pratt and Faris share the screen, it’s not a gimmick to get great ratings – it’s magic.
