Crackdown in PCB after Shooting

Panama City Beach has banned drinking alcohol on the beach following a shooting on March 27 that left seven injured. Around 1 a.m., police were called to a house party where they found victims inside and outside of the house. Three of the victims were students from Alabama A&M University who were visiting for Spring Break.

David Jamichael Daniels, 22, of Mobile, Alabama, was arrested near the scene and  charged with seven counts of attempted murder. According to authorities, the Alabama A&M students who were hurt are in stable condition.

Kearria Freed, 20, who was shot in the head, is still in critical condition. As a result of this shooting, until April 18th, alcohol consumption has been banned on beaches and parking lots in all of Bay County, Florida. Violators will be arrested. The ordinance passed by the Bay County Council also closed bars two hours earlier at 2 a.m., rather than 4 a.m. According to USA Today, an estimated 6 million young people visit Panama City Beach for Spring Break each year.
