A fourth year female student at George Washington University was found dead in her West Hall dorm room on the Mount Vernon campus early Tuesday morning.

The George Washington University Police found the student at 8 a.m. and have no reason to believe the death was a criminal act according to George Washington University.

University President Steven Knapp said in a community message that the student was a chemistry major.

The name of the student will not be released at the family’s request according to The GW Hatchet.
