As if the Trayvon Martin case wasn’t enough, George Zimmerman is back in the news after being arrested over the weekend.
Zimmerman was arrested last weekend after allegedly throwing a wine bottle at his girlfriend’s head because they got into a heated conversation over a work of art. According to the police report obtained by TMZ, the domestic violence incident began on Jan. 5 when Zimmerman and his girlfriend began arguing over a painting he wanted back from her.
Zimmerman’s girlfriend, whose name has not been released, began to walk out. As she was walking out, George threw the bottle in an attempt to hit her, but the bottle missed her and hit the garage door.
After being arrested last weekend, Zimmerman talked to cops about the incident and claimed that he did not throw the bottle. Police did not buy his claim and he was arrested for aggravated assault.
The report states that Zimmerman and his girlfriend have only been dating for a few months. But it doesn’t sound like she’s too interested in him. When police asked if they’d been intimate, her response was:
“I did get drunk in the past and have sex with him before.”
