Boxing fans rejoice! The Ali-Frazier of the 21st century will happen after five treacherous years of on and off negotiations. Floyd “Money” Mayweather will fight Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao in the Las Vegas on May 2, 2015.
Mayweather and Pacquiao will box for a unified welterweight title. More importantly, a spot in boxing lore as the generation’s best fighter is at stake. The fight was delayed over the years for a number of issues, including Mayweather serving 60 days in jail after he pled guilty to domestic violence charges in 2012.
ESPN’s Dan Rafael reported the news at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. His story can be found here.
