Michelle Obama’s “T Magazine” Cover is a Reminder of What We Will All Be Missing at The White House

Just when we thought we couldn’t love her any more than we do now, Michelle Obama gave T Magazine the honor of posing for one of the seven covers of their October 2016 “The Greats” Issue, on stands today.

The magazine features heart-felt letters from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Gloria Steinem, Jon Meacham and Rashida Jones, who reminisce on notable memories they had with the first lady and say their final thoughts.

“Michelle Obama embodies the modern, American woman,” Jones said. “Rarely can someone express their many identities at the same time while seeming authentic.”

“She had become an American style icon,” Adichie said. “Her dresses and workouts. Her carriage and curves. Toned arms and long slender fingers. Even her favored kitten heels, for women who cannot fathom wearing shoes in the halfway house between flats and high heels, have earned a certain respect because of her. No public figure better embodies that mantra of full female selfhood: Wear what you like.”

The Obama’s also held their final State Dinner Tuesday night and made sure they were going to leave The White House with a bang. The first lady wore a rose gold form-fitting custom-made Versace gown to host the Italian Prime Minister and his wife at President Obama’s State Dinner.

Here is a nostalgic look back at some of her past State Dinner outfits, from when the Obamas first took office all the way up until now.
