You Don’t Really Understand The Meaning of Forgiveness Until You Read This Story

Meet Takunda Mavima.

At the age of 18 years old, he decided to drive home drunk with his friends. After 4 shots of liquor and some beer, Mavima lost control and crashed his car with 4 passengers inside of the car with him.

17-year-old Tim See and 15-year-old Krysta Howell lost their lives in this tragic accident. Mavima went through various proceedings in court after the accident to ask for a 2nd chance after committing this terrible mistake.

Among the witnesses who testified on his behalf were the father and sister of victim Tim See.

“I am begging you to let Takunda Mavima make something of himself in the real world — don’t send him to prison and get hard and bitter, that boy has learned his lesson a thousand times over and he’ll never make the same mistake again.”

After the hearing, See’s father and sister made their way to Mavima’s side of the courtroom and embraced him with love and kindness.

Mavima was still found guilty of a DUI and was sentenced to 2 and 1/2 years in prison. But the See family’s gesture of sympathy for Mavima shows that forgiveness is possible, no matter what.
